Folio support

Help for Folio Cards by DOOMERS, the private iPhone and iPad beta.

Get help

Email hello@doomersllc.com with the app version and build shown in Data, your device model, iOS version and the steps that led to the problem. A screenshot or a small redacted CSV example can help. Do not send passwords, grading certificates or your full collection unless they are needed and you choose to share them.

Your collection is stored on your device. Export a full JSON backup before troubleshooting, restoring or deleting the app. We cannot recover a collection that was stored only in a deleted app.

Import a collection

Export a CSV from your current collection app. In Folio, open Data → Import collection CSV, select the file from Files and review the detected columns, currency and preview before importing. The import keeps an archive of the original rows and retains unresolved entries for review.

If a card is missing from the catalog, use Add an unlisted item or keep the unresolved row for later matching. Unlisted records preserve the information you supply without claiming a verified catalog identity, artwork or printing. Reimport checks help prevent duplicates; review the preview before confirming.

Add photos, artist cards and custom cards

In build 8 and later, open Collection → + → Add from a photo. Take a picture or choose one from Photos. Review the suggested name and number, then confirm the exact language, finish, condition and quantity. Recognition reads printed text and may miss glare, handwriting or unusual releases; it does not determine authenticity or a slab grade. Nothing is automatically added from an uncertain match.

Choose Add unlisted or custom card for anything outside an official list. A printed number and official checklist are optional. Record artist, edition, medium, the underlying card and provenance notes, and attach your own photo. The David Choe / Choeymon preset supplies editable artist and series text; it is not an authenticated checklist. Altered and artist cards keep separate identities and do not inherit ordinary card market prices. Existing cards also have Add or replace your own photo on their detail page.

Your photo and custom details stay in your private collection database. They are included in the full JSON backup, not the inventory CSV. The beta saves resized reference photos up to 800 pixels on the longest side, with a 20 MB total photo budget. Keep full resolution originals separately. Older app versions may not preserve new photo or custom metadata fields, so restore into build 8 or later.

Back up or move to another device

Data → Export full JSON backup preserves the full collection, including copy details, wishlist, binders and saved price information. Save it outside the app, for example in Files. On the destination device, choose Data → Import / restore JSON backup and review the replacement confirmation.

Inventory CSV is useful for a spreadsheet, but it is not a full backup. Restoring replaces the destination collection rather than merging it. The app keeps a local file from before the latest restore or import, available from Data. Folio does not currently sync automatically across devices.

Use market prices and alerts

In versions with market data, open a card’s Market prices and alerts screen. Enable market data, choose the matching marketplace set, product and printing, and review the identity before saving a watch. English Pokémon, Japanese Pokémon and English One Piece are supported where the daily feed has a matching product. Sports and other languages may need manual comparisons.

The feed supplies USD market estimates for ungraded products, not slab values or individual completed sales. It cannot verify your copy’s condition. Saved CSV estimates remain separate. Missing or stale prices are labeled and are not replaced with made up amounts.

Price rise alerts start at 15% and can be changed. Folio needs two comparable observations about a day apart before it can identify a daily rise. You can refresh while using the app and opt into background checks and local notifications. iOS decides when background work runs, so exact overnight delivery is not guaranteed.

Compare prices and dealer offers

Open a card → Compare sales, listings and dealer offers. Choose the exact printing, grading company, grade, raw condition, currency and included costs. Matching saved sale observations can be summarized over 30, 90 or 365 days. Asking prices, dealer cash offers, trade offers and daily estimates remain separate. Dealer ratios compare only to your matching saved sales median; they are not a guarantee that a dealer will pay it.

Observations and seller labels are entered by you, not verified payments or independently classified resellers. Unusual saved prices are flagged for review and retained; you may exclude an observation with a reason, which remains visible in the notebook. The proceeds calculator uses only fees and shipping you enter and is not profit or an automatic fee quote. A lack of comparable sales is shown as missing data rather than zero value.

Check completed sales

Open a card → Check prices on the web → eBay sold listings. Review the exact card, language, printing, condition, grading and sale terms on eBay. Search results can include unrelated cards. A daily market estimate is a different kind of price information.

Images or cards are missing

The catalogs are partial source snapshots and some languages, promotional cards, artwork and finishes are incomplete. Stock images need a network connection; your own saved photos are available locally. Folio does not substitute artwork from another language or invent a printing. An unlisted item lets you retain a card while coverage is corrected. Send the printed name, set, number and language when reporting a gap.

Install the beta

Native iPhone beta access uses Apple’s TestFlight app and an authorized invitation. External testing depends on Apple approval; a project ZIP or simulator app is not an installable iPhone beta. The company website does not grant access to someone else’s collection. Each installation starts with its own local collection.

Privacy and permissions

Read the Folio privacy policy for local storage, network requests, optional prices, alerts, backups and deletion. Notification permission is optional. You can organize your collection without creating an account or enabling alerts.
